What I’m Reading this Weekend

- Barron’s has a fantastically insightful interview with Jeremy Grantham of GMO. His ideas about the inherent strengths and weaknesses of corporate CEOs are both eloquent and simplistic.
- I’m trying to get a feel for the long-term trends in base metals (aluminum, copper, nickel, etc) by using these great charts at infomine.com
- Reading through some white paper information from SunPower Corp (SPWR) - these folks look to be one of the few that will survive after consolidation, and they’ve been smart about communicating with investors. There’s also a big conference in San Diego this week, so I’ve been catching up on the buzz-worthy items going in. I would like to commit an allocation to a solar player at some point, but I don’t have enough insight yet to determine what the supply/demand dynamic will be next year.
Keeping a very close eye on Asia and European market this morning. These are still the most volatile of times, so keep some powder in the keg. There are good deals to be found….
